This is such a great university. I went for the pre college nursing program and it was such a wonderful experience. The cafeteria is great and I was literally in heaven. The atmosphere is great as well. Campus is very pretty in the summer and theres bunnies hopping around once in a while.

As an alumnus of Adelphi University, my experiences on this campus have been nothing less than positive. It afforded me the opportunity to interact with its Ivy League-educated faculty and explore a variety of courses from its esteemed College of Arts & Sciences which are essential to a timeless liberal education. In addition, my small classes without lecture halls made the Adelphi experience unique. Located in the picturesque, affluent village of Garden City, I like to think of Adelphi as an outdoor museum of architecture, a captivating range from the neoclassical Levermore Hall (named after the founding member of the Union League Club) to the modern Nexus Building. Adelphi University is a hidden gem on Long Island and will always have a special place in my heart!

We came here with the school's study tour group, and the professors are very attentive! The dormitory is cool and big enough, and the acting teachers are very nice

I just transferred to Adelphi and so far my classes seem alright. I think this school would be better for commuters. Housing here is a complete joke. They are very controlling for subpar housing. My last school had way better housing and was not as strict. They apparently have hyper sensitive fire alarms for what reason? I have no idea because these rooms don't look extremely nice to be that paranoid. A person can't even do (blow dry/ straighten) his/her hair in his/her room. He/she would have to go to the communal bathroom for that (with doesn't even guarantee the fire alarm not going off.) It's ridiculous for the cost of this place. When attending a floor meeting, it felt as though you were being told everything you can't do. It feels almost as a mistake for me coming here. I don't know if I was just use to better housing at my last school (which felt as you were more at home), but some of these rules are pathetic. If I was a commuter then maybe this review would be better. Personally, I think living comfortably plays an important part in college life. (Most of this info I did not find out until coming here)

I graduated from this school with a Bachelors in Management from the business school. I found the business school to have great professors and excellent classes. The school as a whole was tolerable. The Asst Dean of school affairs was beyond rude to me, I was told by the health staff that having Strep throat was not contagious and was given an asprin, on a separate occasion I ripped up my knee running to catch a train to school at Jamaica station, and health service refused to give me peroxide to clean my cut or provide even a band aid. Professors that teach elective classes, I found to be beyond boring and excessively harder than my core (required) classes. The extra-curricular activities are so thoroughly regulated that sneezing is hazing, and other than an intra-mural sport, the organizations aren't very fun. In addition, they fine students in organizations that don't go to school mandated events AND require a donation if you do go, such as Relay For Life. Look, it's not a bad school, but there's always an issue with something. Many visits to financial aid because they screwed up something, trying to sign up for classes but being locked out of what you need or want. Also this is a commuter school, so if you dorm, there isnt much to do on campus after hours or on the weekend and there isnt much nearby within walking distance (its in the middle of a residential neighborhood). There is a shuttle that runs until about 9 or 10 pm, and takes you to the mall or train station. All in all its an okay school but not the best. Good luck with your endeavors!

Academics are average , if not slightly below. Financial aid office is especially frustrating. Always a line and many workers there are either rude or completely unmotivated to help you, acting like they are doing you a favor by taking a break from playing games on their iPhones to help you. Really the best thing about this university was who I met there while I was attending. I have a small group of quality friends and a loyal girlfriend who I met there.

It's a very small but pretty and well kept school (expensive too..) With class sizes kept to a fairly intimate size. There's always a ton going on around campus and Greek life seems to rule the campus so they're always having bake sales. Food is overpriced unfortunately and parking is impossible depending on when you get there. There are bunnies running around though :)
